Window Styles

Casement Windows

These windows crank out acting like a door on a hinge. Casements open outward to either the left or right. They can be joined together (Mulled), and its not uncommon to see double casements and triple casement combinations.

Double Hung Window

Consists of two "sashes", one on top and one on the bottom...that slide up and down as well as tilt in for easy cleaning. The double hung window is the most universal window of all styles.

Fixed Picture Window

Sometimes referred to as a "fixed" window...Picture Windows are the ultimate in Panoramic Views. They often fill large spaces and offer expansive views, letting nature's light pour into your home.

Horizontal Sliders

Comes in the "2 Lite" and "3 Lite" varieties.
In a 2-Lite (2 section) slider each sash slides.
In a 3-Lite Slider, the sashes on either end both slide while the center panel is stationary.
When inquiring about Slider Windows, be sure to ask about our Tilt-N-Slide option. This unique window not only operates as a Horizontal Slider, but each sash actually swings in for easy cleaning!

Vinyl Patio Doors

The right patio door can be a critical component for a very busy traffic area of your home. For this area you want to make sure that you are buying quality and reliability.

Energy Efficiency

What is an NFRC Rating?

You should select windows that make the most sense for your climate. While some windows are better at keeping you warm, others excel at keeping you cool.

Performance criteria are based on the climate zones and ratings certified by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC).

NFRC-certified products - Reputable window manufacturers rate and certify products according to National Fenestration Rating Council requirements.

  • U-Factor- The lower the U-Factor, the better the window insulates. U-factor measures how well a product prevents heat from escaping. The rate of heat loss is indicated in terms of the U-factor (U-value) of a window assembly. U-Factor ratings generally fall between 0.20 and 1.20. The lower the U-value, the greater a window's resistance to heat flow and the better its insulating value.

  • Solar Heat Gain Coefficient- This number indicates how effective the product is at blocking the sun’s radiant heat. The lower the SH GC, the less solar heat the window allows into your home. All windows with insulated glass claim to save you money on energy costs. However, not all insulated glass windows are created equal. Windows with high-performance glass can save you significant money on energy costs, but just as important is the fact that their innovative design helps make your home more comfortable.

  • Solar heat gain, visible light and U-value– these important factors should be weighed when choosing windows.

The key to choosing the right glass package for your home is to find the combination of performance values to suit your needs. We will be glad to assist you in making these decisions. Contact us now for a FREE Consultation.
